How many Warroad Public School District students took their MCA and MTAS Reading tests in 2021-22 school year?

Warroad Public School District ranked second in the Roseau County for test participation, with 536 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Warroad Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 7.6% over the previous year.

Warroad Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 55% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 29% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 36% not meeting the expected standards.

Warroad Public School District encompasses schools within Roseau County and has a main office in Warroad.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
