Red Lake Falls Public School District: MCA and MTAS Reading results for 2021-22 school year

Red Lake Falls Public School District ranked first in the Red Lake County for test participation, with 202 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Red Lake Falls Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 1% from the previous year.

Red Lake Falls Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 53% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 15% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, fourth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 38% not meeting the expected standards.

Red Lake Falls Public School District encompasses schools within Red Lake County and has a main office in Red Lake Falls.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
